Bleeding gums is the first sign of gum problems. Frequently bleeding gums are suggestive of chrnic gum disease called Gingivitis. When gingivitis remains untreated, it spreads into deeper bone tissues causing Periodontitis. Periodontal infection causes loss of bone support around teeth and ultimately loosening of teeth. Gum problems are caused by excessive harmful bacterial plaque and tartar in the mouth, if not timely removed causes chronic gum disease. Gum problems can be avoided by regular twice daily brushing and regular rinsing of the mouth, visiting the dentist once a year for check up as well as professional teeth cleaning by a dentist.
